THE BELGUIM HARES

Yesterday the 25th June i picked up Buttercup the Belguim Hare she is nearly 4 months old and was the runt of the litter so is much smaller then her litter brothers & sisters. My friend Lynn who bred her did not expect her to live but little Buttercup is a true fighter. She is very loving and very lively. She does have what looks to me like a umbilical hernia but this does not bother her i am keeping a close eye on her and my vet will have another look at her in a few weeks. Its weild as the lump only shows when she is running about as soon as she lies down to rest it disappears. I am doing some research into hernia's in rabbits so if anyone reading this could help me please contact me via the CONTACT US page.

My boy Stephen giving her a cuddle. Him & Lucy both want her as their pet so i have told them they will have to share her. I do hope to get more hares so hopefully that will make them happy.

In the care case i brought her home in.

Lucy stoking her.

Here's a video of her exploring my lounge
