Brenda's Small Animal Rescue

Hi Friends my name is King cos i am the King of rabbits he he, i have lived with mum Brenda & family for the last 3 years. I was born in a place called tropical wings and i lived their with my sister until i was 18 months old it was a nice place and lots of people came to see us all the time and their was lots of other animals their too. Mum Brenda used to visit alot with her children and got to know the people who looked after us all. One day the people picked me up and told me i was going to live with Mum Brenda and her family i don't know why this happened but mum does so you will have to ask her. I was abit scared but as i already knew mum it wasn't too bad.

So now i am a very happy housebunny i am free to roam anywhere downstairs i have looked at the stairs that go to the upper part of the house but they look too steep and i can't be bothered to climb them. I love getting in everyones way cos i love to lie across doorways and mum and family then have to step over me cos i get a bit grumpy if they wake me up to move me. I also love eating even the cats meat which mum keeps saying i shouldn't eat but i love it and when mums not watching i eat some. I also prefer to drink out of the cats & sky's waterbowl rather then my own water bottle, i don't like carrotts very much but i will eat them if mum has peeled them (mum says i'm very fussy). My fav food is Savoy Cabbage it has the nicest green leafs and tastes so great i eat nearly a whole one each day mum says i have expensive tastes but she loves me so she spoils me.

Hi everyone isn't this weather great? I have been going out in the back garden everyday for the last week and i have been eating lots of grass and saying hi to all mum's other animals some who i already know but i have also meet some new friends. All of us (the rabbits) have been out in our runs all day eating the grass and sunbathing mum puts our runs next to each other so we can see each other and have a chat. Also outside are the chickens and boy do they make a noise when they are laying egg's i don't know why!!! The guinea pigs have also been outside and they eat more grass then us rabbits!!!

The kittens have also been let out for the first time over the last week or so and Ben has been looking after them and i have told the new rabbits not to be scared of them, when they come over and say hello. Sky (the dog) has also been out in the garden alot and she runs around like a mad one she is one crazy dog!!

We are all very lucky that mum has a big garden that we can all enjoy and we help her with her big garden by eating the grass so she doesn't have to cut the grass He He.

Mum would just like to say to all you animal lovers out their to please make sure that in this hot weather all water bottles are topped up or changed at least twice a day and if your animal is in an outside run make sure they have some shade as we can all suffer from heatstroke just like you humans. One thing mum does to keep us cool is to freeze some carrot puree or cabbage puree into ice cube shapes and we love them.

R.I.P. KING DIED 02/06/2008 AGED 6 YRS

Hi Everyone I am really sad and upset today as my hubby Paul found that King had died in his hutch over night. He was fine over the weekend he was even outside most of saturday enjoyed the grass and yesterday he was running around the house as normal. He was just over 6 years old so all i can think off is that he died of old age. Sky and Ben keep looking for him as they can´t understand where he´s gone. The whole family will miss him alot i am finding it very hard to even write this.
I have added some of the last photo´s taken off him on saturday.
